Electronic Design Engineer 2

Job Overview: 
The Electronic Design Engineer II provides technical solutions for the design and development of Raydon products, primarily, virtual-reality training, simulation, and amusement devices and equipment with a focus on electrical and electronic hardware and subsystems. The Engineer supports the entire product development lifecycle. The Engineer analyzes requirements, develops work plans, creates designs, documents designs using CAD analysis, modeling and drafting software tools. The Engineer may coach and monitor vendors and subcontractors to achieve project and product goals.

The ideal candidate will enjoy working in a fast paced, collaborative, team environment and be capable of solving complex problems to meet project and product requirements

Job Requirements: 
Typical Duties include but are not limited to the following.
  • Analyzing DoD and commercially derived requirements.
  • Developing concepts at the subsystem, assembly, subassembly, and component levels to include wire harnesses and printed circuit boards.
  • Modifying, designing, reviewing, testing and documenting concepts, subsystems, assemblies, components manufacturing, quality assurance, logistics & procurement purposes.
  • Performing engineering analyses in support of designs.
  • Developing 3-D models and drawings of HW items and defining procurement packages.
  • Incorporating redlines, completing drawings, writing electronic components test processes, documenting component qualification and supporting the develop of technical drawing packages.
  • Creating or modifying firmware.
  • Creating HW development plans, supporting cost and schedule preparation and reporting status.
  • Supporting department and company goals, needs, and processes.
  • Evaluating prototypes and performing trade studies.
  • Ensuring development activities are compliant with applicable standards.
  • Performing Source data collection and definition ensuring commonality among products and evaluating potential supplier capabilities, offerings and post award supplier performance to cost targets and schedule

Job Qualifications: 
  •  BSEET, BSEE, or equivalent degree in electronic circuit simulation.
  • 6 years’ experience as an electronic design engineer.
  • Experience designing circuit board with EDA tools such as AutoDesk Eagle, or equivalent.
  • Experience using AutoDesk Inventor for 3D mechanical design, simulation and visualization.
  • Experience using AutoDesk Vault (or equivalent software) for managing design product data.
  • Possess hands-on prototyping and troubleshooting experience for mechanical and/or electronic/mechanical products

Preferred Qualifications: 
  • Experience designing virtual reality simulation or amusement systems.
  • Experience with AutoDesk Eagle.
  • Experience designing to DOD requirements.
