Graduate Hire Program - Electrical Engineer

If you’re a current student or a recent graduate in Engineering you may be eligible for Carrier’s Graduate Hire Program! We are accepting applications for our 2021 program. The applicants must have received their degree prior to the start date. We’re looking for engineers who bring fresh ideas within the skills of the future- Cyber Security, Embedded Systems, Model-Based Development, Software, Systems, and UI Development. Carrier’s Graduate Hire Program provides a hands-on engineering experience in a supported, closely mentored cohort. Associates of the Graduate Hire Program will acquire career development opportunities, exposure to leadership, and will develop a strong professional network. The goal of Carrier’s Graduate Hire Program is to help early-career professionals become productive and successful engineers within the one year program!
Electrical engineer to develop innovative solutions by developing, designing, and debugging embedded firmware products. The role focuses on new product design as well as sustaining support for products within the Carrier fire alarm product development group.
  • Embedded firmware design for life safety systems and components in a challenging global market
  • Use of C language and integrated development environments on proprietary life safety system platforms
  • Complete conceptual, architectural, detailed design and test documentation
  • Develop life safety systems from concept to release-to-production within short timelines
  • Work closely with hardware and other firmware engineers within and outside of the project team
  • Keep abreast of industry changes in engineering processes and disciplines
  • Help establish and communicate project schedules, resource, and contingency plans
  • Participate in a compliance-driven culture within the engineering team
  • Evaluate and recommend new technologies
Required Experience:
  • Experience with debugging, support, and development of real-time embedded firmware systems
  • Bring a positive, can-do attitude to the workplace every day
  • Must be a team player, action-oriented, and highly motivated.
  • Open and candid communications skills
  • Can work well under pressure
Additional:
  • Able to read schematics with a basic understanding of hardware is a plus
  • Use of tools (oscilloscope, meters, etc.) for hands-on debugging purposes
  • Experience with RENESAS RL78 family microcontrollers
  • Experience with 8/16 bit microcontrollers
  • Experience with revision control systems
Education:
  • BA/BS in Computer or Electrical Engineering
Eligibility Requirements:
  • Must be willing to take a drug test as part of the selection process
  • Must be willing to submit to a background investigation as part of the selection process
  • Must have unrestricted authorization to work in the United States
  • Must be willing to work out of an office in Bradenton, FL
  • Ability to travel occasionally
