Stationary Engineer (Trainee)
Incumbents in this position operate, maintain and repair stationary engines and mechanical equipment to provide utilities or power for buildings and industrial processes under the training of a Class I licensed Stationary Engineer. Work involves shift, weekend and holiday assignments; therefore, candidates must be available for shift work. A shift differential is paid to full-time employees working evening and night shifts.
Minimum Qualifications
An Associate's degree in Building Maintenance, Building Systems Engineering Technology, or a related field with an emphasis on mechanical and electrical systems. OR one year of experience assisting in the operation and maintenance of a water treatment facility. OR two years of experience assisting in the operation and maintenance of industrial equipment. OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Licenses: Applicants must possess and maintain a Stationary Engineer’s License (Class II Restricted) issued by the City of St. Louis by completion of the working test period. Applicants must also possess and maintain a valid Missouri driver’s license while employed by the City of St. Louis. Must possess a valid driver's license at the time of filing application.
