About this Job

Working in Tech Operations, engineering students will gain valuable experience through tasks that are both technically challenging and educationally stimulating. Under guidance of the Powerplant Engineering Team, the students will undertake engineering projects, provide technical input, and assist with the day-to-day needs of the airline. Our interns and co-op students will be exposed to a variety of aspects of Powerplant Engineering, including Aircraft Performance, Engine Shop Visits, Vendor Maintenance Manuals, and other areas as deemed appropriate.

Responsibilities

  • Learn about the Airline’s Powerplant engineering by developing and completing engineering Projects designed to enhance the efficiencies of the department.
  • Under minimal guidance, Perform Aircraft Performance analysis and prepare reports detailing the findings. 
  • Clearly and effectively communicate the analysis results to senior team members.
  • Assist in Tracking and auditing Engine Shop Visits and Engine Shop Records.
  • Develop understanding of Powerplant Engineering Processes and procedures while assisting with operational needs of the airline.
  • Required to present projects and/or accomplishments to department leadership at the end of the term.
  • May perform other responsibilities as assigned. Responsibilities and duties may change when circumstances dictate. (e.g. emergencies change in workload, rush jobs or technical developments.)

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled and in pursuit of undergraduate or graduate degree in Aeronautical/Aerospace/Mechanical Engineering from an accredited college/university. 
  • Must be a self-motivated problem solver who demonstrates flexibility in acceptance of assignments and schedules.
  • Great attention to detail and strong communication skills are necessary. 
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
