Junior Designer/ Sales Consultant

JOB SUMMARY:
 
The primary function of a sales consultant is to effectively guide prospective Solun customers through a creative process. Sales consultants are responsible for educating, consulting and selling our wide array of custom window products to new and existing customers in their assigned markets. You will be required to fully understand the technical, design and/or complex service questions from existing and prospective customers. For this position, you will need to be an expert in our company’s capabilities, solution applications, service information, pricing and price adjustments. Most important, a successful sales consultant will have a demonstrated track record of success and business growth in a solution-sales environment and evidence clear understanding and utilization of solution-selling methodologies including:
 
·      In-depth discovery processes aimed at developing a clear understanding of customers’ current-state and ideal-state gaps.
·      Comprehensive solution development, with consideration and analysis of alternative solutions.
·      An understanding of decision-making dynamics and gaining access. Knowing how to establish a value proposition for the customer. If there are multiple decision-makers, building consensus and developing commitment among all solution-relevant constituents.
·      Resource acquisition and the deployment necessary for solution-implementation. Serving as a boundary-spanner and translational expert throughout the installation process.
The successful sales consultant will have the capability, and be interested in, consulting with clients on their design ideas and aspirations and turning those ideas and aspirations into reality. The area of consulting could include anything from a single-piece window treatment to a complete re-make of their home or business.
 
 
OBJECTIVES/DELIVERABLES:
·      Create a strong pipeline of potential new business while maintaining and enhancing the relationships with existing customers.
·      Understand market trends, and changing market needs.
·      Maintain the highest level of customer care during the planning, scheduling and installation of each project.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
 
·      Conduct in-home design consultations to identify the right product to match the customer’s personal style, functional needs and budget.
·      Provide quotes and immediate feedback to facilitate the ordering and installation processes.
·      Serve as a liaison between manufacture vendors, customers, installers and our back office to ensure the best customer experience.
·      Build local relationships with realtors, builders and other professional who rely on our services.
JOB REQUIREMENTS AND PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES:
 
·      Sales Experience. Three years of successful sales experience in a customer-centric, custom-solution environment where problem-solving is a key characteristic of a consultative sales process. Uses appropriate and creative methods and styles of communication to gain acceptance of a proposal or new solution offering.
·      Resilience. Maintains a positive attitude and personal effectiveness and as a result has established a progressive track record of driving sales and closing deals through new business development.
·      High Energy. Energetic personality with excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, drive and ambition, and a team-oriented approach to customer service delivery.
·      Intelligent. Ability to think creatively, plan, organize, set goals and execute strategically. Detail-oriented with ability to multi-task. Excellent communication skills.
·      Collaborative.  Strong relationship-building, interpersonal and internal/external-networking skills.  Works well with others, takes time to help customers. Willingness to work with all internal partners for project success.
·      Entrepreneurial self-starter. Hands-on approach ensuring customers are delighted throughout the sales and installation process.
·      Knowledge of/proficient in MS Office Suite and relevant design programs.
·      Background or education (associates or bachelor’s degree) in an interior-design-related field preferred.
·      Driver’s license required.
