Job description
Session Leader Role for Songwriting Program (Independent Contractor): Mind&Melody is a non-profit organization that focuses on bringing interactive music programs to seniors and children in the community.
The Session Leader will be responsible for leading the entire music session by teaching the participants the lesson and directing all planned activities. Training is provided.
*Sessions are In-person*
Locations/Time:
The after school program will take place in schools located in Miami Gardens, Overtown, Liberty City, and Cutler Bay.
Most likely between the hours of 4:30-6:00pm, Monday-Friday. There may be some flexibility on the days/times.
Rate: $50/ 1hr session
Projected earnings: 5-6 hours per week ($250-300), $1000-1200 per month.
Skills Needed:
- Strong public speaking, teaching, and performing skills
- Sight-reading skills, transposition skills, excellent intonation
- Wide repertoire or willingness to learn new music.
- Being able to play by ear
- Prior teaching experience is preferred but not required.
- Singing and Guitar/Piano preferred
