About the Program
 
AmePower Internship program cultivates technical problem-solving skills by developing different engineering projects driven by real AmePower business priorities. Experience and training combined with mentoring and guidance will prepare members with the technical skills and values needed to achieve a successful entry-level engineering career.
 
Participants will have the opportunity to interact with different departments to learn about engineering and other real-world closely related roles such as; Quality Control, Assembly Line/Production, Printed Circuit Board Design, Mechanical Design, Customer Support, Project Management, Documentation, among other areas.
 
Internship Requirements

  • Working towards a bachelor’s degree in the majors stated above, junior or senior students preferably.
  • GPA greater than or equal to 3.0/4.0 overall
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Microsoft Project is a plus)
  • Highly – motivated, results-oriented, energetic, confident, flexible in changing environment
  • Strong commitment to a career in technology and a passion for engineering
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to articulate technical problems in clear and simple terms
  • Ability to use a variety of power tools and hand tools including crimpers, calipers, torque meters to perform electro-mechanical assemblies.
  • At least 4 days a week on-site
  • Fluent English & Spanish is a plus
 
Desired Skills (Mechanical)
 
  • Proficient with ONSHAPE, Autodesk Inventor, or SolidWorks (>100 components Assemblies).
  • Perform examination, metrology, dimensional analysis as part of the reverse engineering process.
  • Ability to generate or modify detailed engineering drawings as part of the product development process.
  • Ability to assist our Quality Control Team with electro-mechanical assembly inspections.
  • Ability to develop assembly manuals, timelines, charts, documentation, etc., by following project/contract specifications.
  • Execute proofs-of-concept for new projects.
  • Ability to interact efficiently with local or international suppliers on requesting quotes, specifications, and developing scopes for engineering work as part of the project management process.
