Early Career Program- Engineering

Our Opening and Your Responsibilities

The Early Career Program – Engineering is a 24+ month rotational program that introduces recent college graduates with engineering degrees to METTLER TOLEDO. This structured program gives participants experience in several different business areas and functions such as traditional manufacturing and engineering roles, while also exploring interests in Marketing, Product Management, US & Global Service, Customer Operations, Quality and IT. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Potential rotations include (this is not all inclusive): 

  • Design processes and build webpages for providing business units globally with data quality reports. 
  • Review data policies, business rules (SharePoint), and migration checks for alignment and add additional checks to enhance data quality. 
  • Design and coordinate build/rollout of updated SAP Data Request Process in SNow to include additional processes and improve workflow efficiency. 
  • Collaborate with engineering teams on the development of a new terminal for the Industrial market. This includes hardware and software system testing, application development and technical writing. 
  • Perform data analysis and prepare reports weekly for on time delivery data; Design visualizations to facilitate proactively using the analysis to improve OTD. 
  • Develop model using SAP data to forecast weight and/or volume of product shipped between key locations; Data sources could include historical, current, and forecasted data in SAP; Determine the appropriate inputs and outputs; Develop plan to implement report using Excel template, HANA report, etc. 
  • Design software tools that could be used to compare the features of competitive products. 
  • Partner on the development of a software tool for calibration reporting. This includes requirements documentation, software testing and supporting field users during a beta test phase. 
  • Pilot lean Six Sigma projects to analyze fleet spend to reduce costs, and reduce the time to invoice service orders. 
  • Provide marketing analysis on new products/service offerings for regulated applications. This includes pushing the new product towards launch by developing marketing messages, developing and presenting a training class and introducing the concept to sales and service employees. 
  • Research and develop content for segment marketing tools and customer visits.

What You Need to Succeed
Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer & Science Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Industrial & Systems Engineering is required; students who are in their final year of undergraduate studies are the target candidate pool. 
  • Grade point average of 3.0 or higher. 
  • Proven experience in a leadership role within a student-led organization. 
  • Previous and/or current involvement in community service or other volunteer organizations. 
  • Proficient-to-advanced M/S Office skills including Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint. 
  • Excellent follow-through, ability to meet deadlines, decision-making and multi-tasking skills, and excellent communication skills. 
  • SAP experience is a plus.
