Job Summary:
 
Are you someone who has a passion for solving problems? We have an exciting opportunity for an Electrical Hardware/Software Systems Intern to be involved in the development of key parts of electrical and power electronics products for exciting verticals such as future utility and power grid subsystems, heavy equipment and industrial machinery markets, and defense and aerospace. Working under the mentorship of a subject matter expert, you will be assisting with delivering designs on time and on budget by producing and writing of project requirements and system specifications, conceptualizing customer technical solutions, and collaborating with the team to estimate a credible project commitment schedule.
 
Duties and Responsibilities:
 
  • Work daily with multi-discipline teams on new product design and continuous improvement of CME product electrical and electro-mechanical systems. 
  • Assists in design/development insight on development projects for electro-mechanical systems
  • Assists in development of detailed documentation packages including the execution of test plans and protocols
  • Provides support for Manufacturing Process Development Engineering methodologies, standards, and relevant tests and/or certifications of electro-mechanical products
  • Awareness of Industry 4.0 automation and interested in implementation of these modernizations
  • Assists in trouble shooting design issues, bid proposals, development of documentation/schematics and works with teams to anticipate manufacturing/manufacturability issues
  • Assist in delivering designs on time and on budget by producing and writing of project requirements and system specifications, conceptualizing customer technical solutions, and collaborating with the team to estimate a credible project commitment schedule
  • Assist in writing system level test plans, scripts, procedures
  • Understanding of embedded hardware, software design, and b integration of engineering systems
  • Maintain schedules and multitasking
  • Other duties as assigned
 
Job Qualifications:
 
  • Coursework in electrical hardware and software design
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong sense of personal ownership and drive for quality
  • General knowledge of electronic manufacturing processes
  • Good written and oral communication skills Clerical and computer skills, Proficient with MS Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize work to meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong problem solving and teamwork skills. Flexible with changing assignments and priorities
  • Familiar with theory or reliability
  • Knowledge of CMMI and ISO 9000 standards
 
Minimum Requirements Needed:
 
  • High School or AA/AS degree (trade or tech school) from an Accredited College/University
  • Pursuing a BS/MS in Engineering, Electrical/Computer Engineering or another relevant field
  • Coursework and general knowledge and understanding of Electrical Engineering and/or Computer Science with both hardware and software background
  • Positions with CME require access to controlled goods and technologies subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations or the Export Administration Regulations. Applicants for these positions need to be "U.S. Persons," as defined in these regulations.
