Process Improvement Engineer

POSITION SUMMARY
The Performance Improvement Engineer is responsible to and works under the direction of the Chief Innovation and Performance Officer. As with all CORE employees, however, ultimate supervisory responsibility is by the President/CEO. The Performance Improvement Engineers primary responsibility is to identify, oversee and facilitate process improvement initiatives. The Performance Improvement Engineer will also be responsible for implementation, maintenance, and governance of critical company data streams to ensure valid, reliable, data-rich environment, enabling smart decisions and intelligent risk opportunities analyzing data and presenting data in formats that assist in problem identification. He/She is responsible for understanding the relationship between strategic deployment objectives and existing data streams at the enterprise level and also identify opportunities and gaps within master data structure. The Performance Improvement Engineer is to ensure data streams are adequate to support strategic deployment objectives and drive process improvement. He/she is responsible to deliver meaningful, actionable insights from data analysis to support all departments with process improvements and be an active participant in the Baldrige Quality Journey and will assist the Baldrige Criteria Leads with formatting and presenting data. The Performance Improvement Engineer is also responsible for the training and development of all employees in process improvement tools and techniques and ensuring a continuous growth in the culture of quality at CORE. The Performance Improvement Engineer will also provide guidance and support as necessary and assigned to the quality assurance aspects of the department.
SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY
The Performance Improvement Engineer is expected to function as the expert on quality tools and techniques. He/she will develop Performance Champions throughout CORE who will identify opportunities for improvement in their areas and will work alongside the PI Engineer to make improvements. He/She will ensure that all improvement efforts are documented. The Performance Improvement Engineer is expected to assist all departments at CORE with improvement efforts. The Performance Improvement Engineer is expected to understand the Baldrige Criteria and provide assistance with the Baldrige Leads in presenting data in a meaningful and appropriate manner. The Performance Improvement Engineer will also be expected to work with outside partners to identify opportunities for improvement. He/She will create and chair the Performance Improvement Council.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
The incumbent for the position of Performance Improvement Engineer must have, as a minimum, a bachelors degree, preferably in a healthcare area or industrial engineering and formal training in the use of quality tools. He/She must have at least one years experience using basic quality and performance improvement tools such as Six Sigma, Lean, Kaizen and RCA, preferably in a healthcare or regulated environment. Certification preferred. He/she must have excellent communication skills and be comfortable with public speaking. He/she must be excellent at building and maintaining work relationships.
