Civil Engineer - Traffic Design

The Vermont Agency of Transportation is looking to hire a highly motivated Civil Engineer to join our Traffic Design team. The Traffic Design Unit develops plans, specifications and estimates for transportation projects. Typical projects include traffic signal design, roundabout design, intersection realignment and road widening. The ideal candidate will have an interest in transportation engineering and public service, the ability to work on multiple projects at a given time, and strong communication skills. The work station for this position is Barre, Vermont, with opportunities for telework, and some in-office and field work will be required.

Bachelor's degree in civil engineering.

OR

Bachelor's degree in any field of engineering AND EITHER one (1) year or more of professional civil engineering work OR one (1) year or more of technical experience performing engineering support tasks involved in the planning, surveying, design, inspection, construction, research and statistics, testing, investigation, and maintenance of various types of civil engineering projects or operations.

OR

Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE).

OR

College senior in the final semester majoring in civil engineering.
