Visual Designer
We are seeking a visual designer. As a member of Carnival’s creative team, you’ll be working with senior designers and creative director to craft our brand voice and unique expressions via design with a focus on all our social channels. We’re looking for someone who feels comfortable creating content across all major social media platforms. You should be able to collaborate and learn from team members, exude positivity and be solutions driven.
We’re looking for someone who is:
- Social media savvy and aware of trends across channels, understand platform nuances across the channels and also understands the difference in user behavior/audiences on channels.
- Experience making IG Filters
- Experience making real-time TikToks for brands also has a pulse on TikTok trends.
- Experience making IG Reels and also has a pulse on IG Reels trends.
- Someone is capable of capturing stills, video, and (bonus) drone content and comfortable using an iPhone to capture content as its less polish for our channels and can edit.
- Strong copy writing skills for brands. Comfortable with casual Twitter copy writing, social captions, etc.
- Capable making Gifs to build our Giphy bank
- Knowledge of graphic design, style, layout techniques and mobile first approach
- A portfolio of completed design projects, social media executions and integrated campaigns

- Experience crafting design assets for social media platforms (your personal channels can be used as examples of your ability in these spaces)
- Proven work experience as a team member at a respected ad agency or on-house ad team

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Utilize exceptional design skills and knowledge of new trends to create original designs and content for the brand and its extensions. Work may live on .com. email or social media.
- Receive direction from creative director and senior designers in order to address a business opportunity, initiative or challenge with compelling creative solutions. Understand design implications across mobile, desktop, tablet, etc.
- Staying current on the brand guidelines and being aware of parallel marketing efforts by agency partners and other business owners.
- Demonstrate an initiative toward extending knowledge about technology/media, design applications and social media innovation
- Incorporate consumer insights through powerful design across all CCL work that creates emotional connectivity and relevance. Leveraging excellent collaboration skills, a solution-based attitude, and the ability to work with people with diverse skills and backgrounds.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree in Design, Branding, Marketing
- 3 years minimum experience
- Attention to detail and accuracy; ability to demonstrate leadership skills; team player attitude; excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to multi-task and deliver under pressure in a high-visibility fast paced role, understanding of marketing trends and social media channels/behaviours, excellent knowledge of current trends in culture, color, technology and other design influencers; social, retail e-commerce and digital agency experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products, InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and Acrobat
