Mechanical Engineer - R&D/Product Design

Position Summary

Mainstream Engineering Corporation is seeking mechanical engineers to contribute to a diverse set of programs involving technology such as: turbomachinery (e.g., compressors, turbines, and pumps), diesel engines and/or generators, component manufacture, and ruggedized test systems. Each R&D engineer is responsible for developing prototypes and releasing products; therefore, the successful candidate must be hands-on and have the ability to test and critically evaluate designs. We are seeking applicants at B.S. and M.S. degree levels with specific experience or interest in, but not limited to, any of the following areas:

  • Mechanical/CAD design experience with knowledge of additive manufacturing and rapid prototyping
  • Hands-on experience in a laboratory setting with sensors, instrumentation, and testing
  • Modelling and simulation, including validation of models through hardware testing
  • Experience or ability to advance quickly to leading highly technical projects

Position Requirements

  • B.S. or M.S. in Mechanical Engineering
  • GPA > 3.3 at all degree levels
  • U.S. Citizenship required due to U.S. Government ITAR restrictions
  • Solid understanding of machine design and CAD/CAM
  • Experience with INVENTOR, ANSYS/FLUENT, COMSOL, MATLAB, and LABVIEW is a plus
