Supplier Cost Engineering Specialist

The position of Specialist, Supplier Cost Engineer as part of the Global Purchasing team provides cross-functional support to internal stakeholders during the sourcing and product development process, helping to drive the global purchase strategy and creating value for internal and external customers through detailed manufacturing process cost knowledge. The incumbent reports to the Manager Supplier Cost Analysis, Global Purchasing and delivers strategic, tactical and operational support for the Supplier Cost Analysis organization. As an advisor to Purchasing Leadership and cross functional process partners, the incumbent manages Global SCA projects, prioritizes strategic and tactical initiatives to embed robust procurement processes, driving cost savings and delivering sound metrics.
 
The core responsibilities for this key position are:
- Create saving opportunities by bringing new manufacturing concept ideas to supply-chain
- Realize cost savings for external sourced components by conducting detailed manufacturing process simulations
- Define, implement and maintain standardized cost analysis systems, tools and instruments for purchasing on a global perspective
- Identify potential supplier development opportunities from process cost analytics
- Provide active purchasing negotiation support to global commodity teams
- Support for the AGCO School of Purchasing locally (topics: cost calculation/ negotiation/value analysis)
- Develop the internal knowledge and expertise on manufacturing technologies
 
The ideal candidate will have these minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent, further MBA and/or academic training in business/economics is a plus.
- Ideally over 2 years of work experience in a cost analyst/engineer-related role, preferably in a global environment.
- Proven track record of cross-functional project management. Active participation in purchasing negotiations with high level spend.
- Strong quantitative, analytical and problem solving skills.
- Good understanding of the complete business environment form the aspects of purchasing, engineering, quality and manufacturing.
- Strong leadership skills with ability to communicate at all levels in a cross functional, matrix oriented, multicultural organization.
- Good manufacturing process knowledge in the agricultural machinery industry field such as castings, forgings, machining, metal fab, plastics, etc. is a plus.
- Fluent English (further European languages are a plus). 
- Good understanding and proven usage history of the AGCO costing tools e.g. Siemens Product Cost Management
 
 Travel is required based on projects.
