Summer Intern/Project Engineering

Description of Department:

Project Engineering is responsible for the management of small to large capital projects and teams to deliver on the execution of capital & other critical projects against compliance, scope, timing and performance deliverables.

Job Description:

This position will allow the selected candidate to learn about executing projects in a GMP Manufacturing Site. They will get to experience both Project and Capital Management while moving projects from conceptual design to complete technical solutions. They will also work with internal groups as well as external vendors to collect project requirements, develop solutions, lead cross-functional teams, aid in qualification activities, and any other activities required to execute capital projects.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Pursuing a degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Biological Systems Engineering, or similar.
  • Must be able to work full-time (35-40 hours/week) throughout the 12-week internship cycle (May-July/August)
  • Must have an active student status and/or within 12 months post-graduation from a BS or MS degree program. Post-doctoral candidates are not eligible.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Basic understanding of Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, and PowerPoint.
  • Basic understanding of AutoCAD or other drafting software and/or ability to read/draw drafting plans.
  • Experience with construction, equipment design, manufacturing, and/or project management.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Must successfully pass a drug screen and background check prior to assignment target start date.
  • Must provide your own funding for relocation and commuting.
