Job Description:
Exercise sound engineering practice to US Navy physical security systems within a variety of lifecycle stages, from requirements definition and functional decomposition to system design, integration, testing, and sustainment.

Responsibilities


  • System requirement and functional analysis, data analysis, and documentation.
  • Design, build, test, and integrate systems and sub-systems. 
  • Create and maintain system documentation for design, maintenance and configuration management of new and existing systems.
  • Participate in data collection exercises, data management, analysis, and reporting.
  • Support the installation and testing of equipment in field locations.
  • Other related functions as assigned.

Required Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree in electrical, mechanical, systems engineering or other related field.
  • Demonstrated ability in a related field.
  • Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively as part of a team.
Applicant must have a dynamic skill set, willing to work with new technologies, be highly organized and capable of planning and coordinating multiple tasks and managing their time. The position will require attention to detail, effective problem solving skills and excellent judgment. Ability to work independently with sensitive and confidential information, maintain a professional demeanor, work as a team member without daily supervision and effectively communicate with diverse groups of clients. Able to work under pressure and accept supervision. Regular and punctual attendance.
US Citizen. Applicant selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information at the level appropriate to the project requirements of the position.

Preferred Qualifications


  • Master’s degree in mechanical engineering, systems engineering, or comparable engineering discipline preferred.
  • Three or more years of applicable experience designing, integrating, testing, and/or maintaining engineered systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to design and document complex systems using CAD programs.
  • Experience with Python or other coding languages.
  • Experience with designing underwater systems.
  • Experience with designing security systems.
  • Experience with designing robotics systems.  
  • Demonstrated knowledge in any of the following: statics analysis, material analysis, thermal analysis, vibration, finite element analysis (FEA), corrosion, fluid dynamics, acoustics. 
  • Prior work experience in professional or research-oriented development. 
  • Demonstrated excellent interpersonal communication skills. 
  • Eligibility for immediate access to classified information.
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
