CIVIL ENGINEER
MUST BE A US CITIZEN, NO WAIVERS GRANTED
Duties
Studies plans, specifications, shop drawings, construction schedules, proposed methods of construction, and develops and makes appropriate recommendations thereon.
Reviews cost estimates, payment estimates, data on projects, reports, and other data complied and submitted for construction activities.
Applies professional engineering knowledge techniques, abilities and practices, with particular emphasis in the construction and civil engineering fields.
Prepares reports of the results of such public contacts, with appropriate comments and recommendations.
As an entry level engineer at the GS-5, GS-7 or GS-9 level you will participate in developmental assignments and training designed to extend your educational background and learn the requirements of the Corps' professional environment.
As you progress through the program you will be assigned progressively more complex assignments supporting management of civil works construction projects.
