Maintenance Supervisor, Fractionation

CSL
Directs the activities of the maintenance technicians to assure safe, timely, and efficient operations. This includes project scheduling, tracking, and resource allocation in regard to maintenance functions and repair activities. Interfaces with Manufacturing, Metrology, Utility Services, Validation, QA, QC, R&D, Regulatory and various outside contractors.
Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the Maintenance Department budget. Support efforts in developing and maintaining of annual budgets and forecasts.
  • Coordinates the weekly and day-to-day support schedule, setting facility priorities where needed.
  • Establishes adequate coverage to support scheduled manufacturing. Coordinates daily job assignments and identifies overtime requirements.
  • Evaluates supervision’s role in the completion and execution of technician related preventive maintenance and repair orders and task lists. Ensure completion of these executions is done in a timely, efficient manner.
  • Prepare and coordinate expense projects as needed to support related maintenance activities.
  • Direct and assist in the training and development of maintenance technicians.
  • Maintains close contact with Manufacturing, Validation, Utility Services, Metrology, Quality, and support labs to assure effective communication on problems, issues, and schedules related to PM&R completion and manufacturing support.
  • Directs and assists the department in developing policies, programs, SOPs, and quality standards to meet current industry, corporate quality, and external regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and maintain, with focus on continuous improvement, metrics to track the execution of preventive maintenance orders vs. due dates.
  • Drive/Lead the implementation of processes aimed at the reduction of the repair order vs. PM order ratio.
  • Communicates effectively with the Sr Manager Maintenance Services on issues and needs of the department.
  • Reaches out to other CSL sites and industry peers to ensure processes, equipment and personnel are Best in Class, (and/or consistent with industry trends).

Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering is preferred. In lieu of a bachelor’s degree: Associates Degree in a related field, Military training in a related field or extensive supervisory experience in the Maintenance field.
  • With an associate degree, a minimum of 3 years’ experience Maintenance is preferred. In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 5 years supervisory experience in the Maintenance field. Preferably in the pharmaceutical, food, or chemical processing industry.
  • Knowledge of and familiarity with other plant operations, such as Manufacturing, QC/QA, etc.
  • Must have strong communication skills (verbal and written) and be able to produce documentation, reports, and other written communication.
