Spirent is seeking a summer intern for the Platform Engineering Team. In this role, you will assist the firmware and PV platform engineering team with test equipment setup, test bed configurations, validation, script development, issue analysis, and regression testing.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Assemble, configure, and maintain test equipment stations (PCs, Spirent platforms, custom test systems).
  • Configure associated test equipment (possibly logic analyzers, protocol analyzers).
  • Coordinate and manage site inventories and licensing, Spirent equipment, firmware/tools, etc.
  • Stand up and maintain developer bench setups as needed.
  • Create standardized system configurations and retrofit to existing systems as needed.
  • Recommend and itemize equipment needs for lab and developer bench systems.
  • Assist in issue reproduction and debug data retrieval to support debug and failure analysis.
  • Assist in troubleshooting and failure analysis as needed in support of firmware/PV engineers.
 
Job Requirements:
Currently majoring in engineering technology or equivalent work experience.
 
Knowledgeable in these areas:
  • Windows and Linux system administration and configuration.
  • Desired, but not required, experience includes:
  • Configuration and use of protocol analyzers, logic analyzers, and oscilloscopes.
  • Background in hardware electronics and hardware troubleshooting.
  • Python scripting.
 
Skillsets
  • Ability to read technical instructions and specifications.
  • Ability to work independently or minimal supervision and multi-task in a dynamic environment based on engineering team needs.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skill sets.
  • Proficiency in English, both spoken and written is required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills in working with software/firmware engineers.
