Sunpower Engineering Intern

Sunpower is looking for an Engineering Intern. The ideal candidate will be a junior or higher in Mechanical, Chemical, Nuclear, Computer Science or Electrical Engineering student. The ability to quickly learn and apply new knowledge in dynamic situations is critical. The position could result in a two-semester position.
 
Engineering Interns perform tests, operating products and test fixtures.

Perform modifications and fabrication with hand tools, and measurements with standard measurement instruments. 

Generate sketches, and representations for prototypes, to be fabricated & assembled. Knowledge of materials & components for basic design, & skills to research them are required.
 
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
  • Education: 4-year degree in progress. (Mechanical, Chemical, Nuclear, Computer Science or Electrical Engineering). 
  • Writing skills to accurately document data and observations from testing including basic statistics & Engineering analysis of data.
  • Support in administrative tasks such as data entry and collection.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software applications.
  • Present to peers, leaders, and upper management as needed.

  • The ability to work within a matrix organization requires the ability to engage stakeholders across functions and to seek consensus where needed.
