Newland Capital Group is currently undergoing construction of a 300,000 SF building in Atlanta, 150,000 SF building in Somerset, NJ and breaking ground in June on a 400,000 SF building in Savannah. The active development pipeline includes an additional 2 million square feet which will break ground in the next 9 months, with several additional million square feet undergoing entitlements across the US major port markets.  

Duties:
-        Managerial oversight of warehouse construction activities including budgeting, reporting, design review and coordination, value engineering, and cost oversight
-        Ability to travel to construction sites
-        Oversight of GC, architect and engineering activities with an emphasis on getting ahead of issues with aims of keeping projects on time and on budget
-        Active input and oversight of the land entitlements and coordination and effectiveness working with local and state governmental authorities
-        Prepare construction update reports and participate in project update calls as needed
-        Review documents for accuracy (RFIs, submittals, change orders, subcontractors’ bids, proposals and agreements, etc.)
-        Look out for construction efficiencies and creative ways for problem-solving and value engineering
-        Provide input to legal on construction contracts; GMP, G-MAX, DBA, etc.
-        In the case of Build-to-Suits coordinate with the client/occupier to assure the building addresses exactly what they need for their business.
-        Coordinate with City officials and other parties as needed to follow-up on necessary approvals
-        Act ethically and with integrity with a focus on exceeding client and investor expectations
-        Review studies during the due diligence period and be an integral part of the decision-making process when pursuing new construction sites


Skills/Qualifications:
-        Two to five years of industrial construction experience, engineering and design/build experience with a contractor is preferredBS in Construction, Engineering, Architecture or related fields
-        Strong technical background
-        Able to multitask between different development projects
-        Ability to travel
-        Bachelor’s degree
-        The ability to adapt and and understand local, state, and federal building codes and laws
-        Strong organizational skills
-        Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, Excel
-        Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
-        Ability to think strategically
-        Strong understanding of industrial construction means and methods
-        Knowledge of construction contracts and contracting processes
