Electrical Engineer

Eaton’s Electrical Sector is currently seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our team! This position is based at our Moon Township, PA location. Relocation assistance will be provided. Hybrid work will be offered within the Pittsburgh area. 
Position Overview: 
The Electrical Engineer will support value added/value engineering (VA/VE), product line support and new product development, for products related to our Commercial and Residential Distribution Solutions Division.

In this function you will: 
  • Drive enhancement of existing products and services based on evaluations of existing and new technologies per Eaton’s strategic plans.
  • Support existing product lines and provide engineering research and development support to solve production issues.
  • Perform technical evaluations of electrical components and assess opportunities to develop partnerships or and new suppliers.
  • Drive electronic hardware development for circuit protection devices.
  • Participate in the design of analog and digital circuits, including power supplies, signal conditioning, and microprocessor support circuits.
  • Stay abreast of market trends and emerging technologies globally, with a particular emphasis on embedded and connected systems, and evaluate their potential impact on Eaton business.
  • Research and develop business case(s) in new product development cycle to understand viability of proposed products in the marketplace.
  • Contribute to Eaton’s interests on councils and committees tasked with developing codes and standards for emerging technologies in which Eaton is investing.
  • Be part of domestic and international project teams assigned to research, design, develop, test and/or launch new innovations; ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Support product certification activities acting as the Eaton representative- UL/CSA.

Qualifications

Required (Basic) Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or Computer Science from an accredited institution
  • Previous engineering experience to include internships/co-ops
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.
Preferred qualifications:  
  • Master’s degree in Electronic, Electromechanical Engineering or Computer Science from an accredited insitution
  • Minimum experience of 1-2 years in similar positions
  • Computer knowledge: MS Office, Familiarity with PADS, Altium and CAD tools
Position Criteria:  
  • Coordinate project activities with other engineering units to facilitate on time project completion
