Roadway Engineer Intern

LOCHNER, is currently seeking a recent or forthcoming graduate Roadway Engineer of an accredited Engineering college program. Entry level (1-2 years) is a plus but no experience required. The position will focus on roadway design services and plans preparation for Florida Department of Transportation projects and other municipalities.

About the Position:
  • Candidate will work out of our Jacksonville office.
  • Contribute to the plans development of highway and interstate improvement projects.
  • Perform engineering calculations as directed by engineering supervisors.
  • Develop plans, specifications, reports, and cost estimates as directed by engineering supervisors.
  • Assist in the development of tables and figures for engineering reports as directed by engineering supervisors.
  • Coordinate with project staff and other disciplines to ensure accuracy and quality of work.
  • Develop project documentation as directed by engineering supervisors.
  • Attend on-site and off-site field reviews throughout North Florida as requested by engineering supervisors.
  • Salary Negotiable, based on experience

Qualifications
  • No experience necessary. Recent graduate or the ability to graduate from an accredited Engineering college program within 3-6 months required
  • Forthcoming BSCE is required and receipt of Engineer Intern Certification is expected
  • Must be located in Jacksonville, FL
  • FDOT design experience is a plus, but not necessary
  • Experience in engineering projects is a plus, but not necessary
  • Able to prepare or assist in the preparation of proposals is a plus, but not necessary
  • Able to prepare or assist in the preparation and maintenance of client reporting such as status reports and other writing or verbal communications to the client, is a plus, but not necessary
