Engineering Technician

Responsibilities:
·        Collect roadway data via surveying tasks and photographs: use survey equipment to locate
reference points/features at surrounding area of accident sites, photograph site (ground level
and drone aerial).
·        Collect data at vehicle inspections: take vehicle measurements, photograph/document vehicle
damage, perform “black box” downloads.
·        Develop roadway and engineering drawings in AutoCAD from survey.
·        Develop field notes/references from site inspection/survey.
·        Assist Professional Engineers with data collection and analysis.
·        Maintain work vehicle, survey instruments, drone equipment, cameras, etc.

Qualifications:
·        Valid driver’s license with clean driving record is required.
·        Associate Degree/Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering Technology/Engineering/Land Surveying
preferred.
·        Must be able and willing to travel (frequent day trips, occasional overnight trips) nationwide.
·        Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. 
·        Experience with AutoCAD preferred.
·        Experience with surveying preferred.
·        Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
·        Must be able to operate survey and camera/drone equipment according to management
requirements.
·        Must be able to work independently for data collection.
·        Candidate must demonstrate strong project planning skills.

Job Description:
This position requires a motivated, self-starting person to join a supportive and welcoming work environment. The employee will be working in an engineering firm and will be expected to represent the firm to clients and other businesses in a professional manner.  A degree in Engineering Technology/Engineering/Land Surveying or equivalent is required. Experience in surveying and AutoCAD is preferred. Strong Office 365 skills preferred. The employee will be trained in data collection techniques and procedures, analysis methods, diagram development, and many other aspects of the engineering process.
