Systems Engineer Intern (PAEN)

The role reports to the Applications Engineering Manager and is located in Cleveland, Ohio.

Systems engineering consists of the design, development, and introduction of systems to effectively utilize state-of-the-art developments encompassing various engineering and related fields and associated products within the utility industry.

Your responsibilities:

  • Work with an engineering team to assist with various aspects of our control systems projects for customers
  • Hardware and software design and testing
  • Use computer programs to perform various engineering operations
  • Conduct analyses and provide related data and information
  • Motivated to troubleshoot and research solutions during the duration while working on projects
  • Attend training sessions both in person and on the job
  • Ability to work a hybrid work schedule – both in the Cleveland office and remote from Cleveland

Your background:

  • Currently enrolled in a degree program in the US
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Must be pursuing a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, mechanical engineering, or chemical engineering
  • Power Plant/Process Control Experience is preferred
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office, specifically, Word, Excel & Visio
  • Familiarization with DCS/PLC and Networks is preferred
  • Strategic approach to problem solving, ability to analyze complex issues
  • Good communication skills and ability to work well in a team-oriented environment
  • Strong customer service focus when supporting clients on proposal issues
  • Must be highly motivated and have the ability to handle concurrent assignments
  • Must be currently authorized to work for ABB in the US
