How the Timing Product Team works

Skyworks is focused on bringing new and innovative clock and oscillator products to the marketplace. These best in class products are more than meets the eye with unparalleled frequency flexibility, exceptional jitter performance, and the ability to be fully customized for each customer in the factory. These products also include innovative DFT/BIST features and novel test methodologies to help guarantee both quality and reliability. The Timing Product and Test team at Skyworks is a dynamic and growing group that provides essential support for this exciting and high growth business. This work includes the continued innovation and development of advanced test solutions that integrates software and hardware design, qualification, and characterization of devices.

Skyworks is looking for experienced individuals capable of interfacing with test engineers, application engineers, design engineers, and technical marketers to develop cost-effective test solutions that meet the challenging requirements of the various target markets. These test solutions typically require a range of digital and analog test techniques combined to insure these products perform as expected.

We are looking for a detail-oriented Product Engineers who are self-starters and thrive in both independent and collaborative work environments.  Engineers inquiring about this position should be familiar with JEDEC device qualification standards, semiconductor characterization processes, and a strong background in probability and statistics. Knowledge of traditional test platforms is desired but not required. Additionally, interested engineers should have a basic understanding of design simulation, device physics, and high-speed clocking systems. Successful candidates will need excellent written and oral communication skills and be comfortable in explaining technical concepts to a wide range of audiences including both senior engineers and management teams.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of engineering fundamentals and methodologies related to IC development and productization
  • Ability to troubleshoot and debug systems, circuits, and devices
  • General analog and digital circuit analysis skills (including noise effects) 
  • Working knowledge of semiconductor quality and process controls

Desired Skills:

  • Working knowledge of signal integrity issues, simulations, and solutions
  • Knowledge of proper and effective use of lab test equipment
  • Familiarity with quality procedures and documentation
  • Technical documentation authoring and editing skills
  • Familiarity with PLL and oscillator design
  • Familiarity with circuit-level simulation tools
  • Experience with multi-person software developments and revision control methodology
  • Experience with embedded systems and firmware development
  • Experience with ATE platforms such as Cohu, Teradyne J750, Teradyne IFlex, or others
  • Schematic capture and PCB design skills
  • Strong software development skills, C and Python preferred
 
Education and/or Experience:
Masters in Electrical Engineering preferred but not required
