JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE
Supports the Performance Monitoring & Analytics Center by participating in the day to day activities of the group which include preparation of documents, spreadsheets and presentations in support of the teams goals and objectives.
The primary focus of the job will be on performing detailed analysis on Entergy’s generating unit performance and automation of tools in support of the Power Generation organization. This position will allow the selected individual to gain knowledge in the following areas: power plant operations, power plant cost modelling, energy markets, and financial modelling.
JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Work developing automation solutions using Automation Anywhere in support of the Power Generation organization.
- Interface with Power Generation personnel to gain understanding of power plant operations and performance through analyzing, observing, and working closely with team members.
- Perform analysis and develop spreadsheets or applications in an effort to report on or automate performance monitoring.
- Reports status, issues, and risks to management on a regular basis.
- Assist with problem solving issues that arise while performing analysis.
- Conducts follow-ups in a detailed fashion.
- Ability to prioritize work and work within deadlines.
- Work may require some travel out of the office no more than 25%.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- GPA 3.0 or above
- Pursing undergrad or master’s degree in engineering, information technology, business, or other related field
- Computer skills - familiar with various databases, as well as Windows environment and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SQL Server and Visual Studio skills (helpful).
- Well-organized with good communication and reporting skills.
- Customer oriented
- Self-motivated, team player, action and results oriented.
Preferred qualifications of the position
Helpful, but not required if candidate is familiar with developing macros in Excel, software programming, & database querying and design
