Student, Intern-Engineering (Summer 2023)

Entergy’s Transmission Department is responsible for planning, designing, constructing, maintaining and operating over 15,000 miles of transmission lines across the four-state territory.

Intern Job Description: 
Working in a team environment to assist engineers in day to day activities including but not limited to:
  • Performing design based on project scoping and site visits
  • Utilizing design software to model surveyed field configurations
  • Preparing operational one-line drawings
  • Validate estimating prices and equipment units, ensuring material is properly ordered and staged for upcoming projects
  • Managing projects that are in construction
  • Completion of as-built documentation
  • Participate in weekly planning coordination calls
  • Work on special projects to assist in improving grid reliability
  • Responding to equipment failures
  • Support lab testing and operations
  • Transmission Substation and Line database management
  • Support of business analytic processes through data mining and reporting, as well as performing a wide variety of detailed engineering analysis in transmission-related areas such as planning, economic analysis, maintenance, design, project management and construction, and operations
  • Travel may be required for the position

Education Requirements:
  • Seeking Electrical, Mechanical, and Civil engineering major.
  • Junior and Senior candidate with graduation dates of December 2023 and beyond preferred.
  • Must be actively pursuing a bachelors, masters or doctorate degree as indicated above and at minimum classified as a sophomore or beyond.
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA
