Field Engineer

We are currently seeking a Field Engineer. The Field Engineer works with the Project Manager to assists project team as requested. Accurately tracks field work and shows an understanding of the assigned work activities. Assists in procurement as requested, follows Purchase Order and Change Order process through 3-Way Match and check issuance. Assists in submittal process through completion of approval. Understands the basics of project operations. Is dependable and follows directions. Asks relevant questions to improve their understanding.
  • Cost reports
  • Cost look ahead and look backs
  • Payments, subcontractor requisitions
  • Prepare additional work orders (AWOs)
  • Negotiate AWOs
  • CPM schedule update, six week look ahead, two week look ahead
  • Submit RFIs
  • Coordinate between subcontractors and trades
  • Manage specific subcontractors and be the main contact and coordinator
  • Produce or supervise the production of shop drawings
  • Supervise and inspect field work and could be made fully responsible for specific locations within the jobsite
  • Coordinate with superintendent and provide drawings and explanations as required
  • Understand drawing details and specification requirements and relate it to the superintendent
  • Order long lead and specialty materials and also keep track should this material run out
  • Resolve technical issues with the Architect /Engineer
  • Prepare submittals for work to be performed
  • Track submittals, RFIs
  • Redline drawings for as-builts

  • Must have a degree in civill engineering, construction management, or a related field
  • Previous internship experience in heavy civil construction preferred
