Department Overview

Pratt & Whitney Hot Section Engineering seeks a goal-oriented, detail-focused project engineer to work as a Project Engineering new hire. 

Key Responsibilities

  • The project engineer’s role will entail a blend of technical and business leadership skills to manage schedules, budgets, and technical risk mitigation activities. 
  • The project engineer will lead one or more engineering projects providing day to day team direction.  
  • In addition, the project engineer will be tasked with sustaining fielded engines through product deficiency investigations and by developing product enhancements. 
  • The project engineer will resolve manufacturing issues in support of new engine production. 
  • This position requires proven leadership, excellent communication skills, and well-rounded general project engineering skills.  
  • The project engineer will act as a CAM (Control Account Manager) for several cost control accounts as well.  In this role, presentations to internal and external customers are frequently required providing direct interfacing opportunities with the Program Office and external customers depending on the program.

Basic Qualifications

  • BS degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or equivalent
  • GPA of 3.0 or higher required
  • Candidate must be a US Citizen due to government contract requirements
  • Fluent in English (verbal/written)

Preferred Qualifications

  • This position requires 12 months or less of relevant professional work experience (excluding internships).
  • Proficiency with MS Office products.
  • Candidate must be able to communicate clearly and concisely. 
  • Self-motivated and the ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Demonstrate an ability to become technically proficient.

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.
Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility.
