PGA WORKS Fellowship- Houston

PGA REACH Southern Texas - In 1994 the Southern Texas PGA Foundation was created with the focus on getting more juniors playing golf. After a rebrand in 2019 to PGA REACH Southern Texas, the foundation’s mission has grown. We strive to positively impact the lives of youth, military, and diverse populations. This is accomplished by enabling access to PGA Professionals and the multitude of programs offered by PGA Reach Southern Texas. PGA Reach Southern Texas has 4 distinct pillars with multiple programs to demonstrate the impact of golf on individuals. Junior Golf – College Scholarships – Military Involvement – Employment Opportunities. PGA Reach Southern Texas is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization that is an extension of PGA REACH, the PGA of America charitable foundation. 

Southern Texas PGA - The STPGA is one of 41 PGA of America Sections in the country and serves over 800 PGA Members and Associates that work within the industry each day. These Professionals are the experts in the business and game of golf. The Section’s geographical area includes the metro areas of Austin, Beaumont, Bryan College Station, Corpus Christi, Houston, Rio Grande Valley, and San Antonio. 

The STPGA is located in Spring, TX and employs 12 Full-Time employees and over 100 Part-Time employees. The organization focuses on areas that enhance our Member’s ability to be world class professionals. This includes tournaments, educational seminars, employment support, and grow the game initiatives. Our Professionals work daily to grow interest and participation in the game of golf. 
JOB OVERVIEW
The primary focus of this position will be to assist PGA REACH Southern Texas in executing PGA REACH programs in all four pillars of the Foundation. 

Junior Golf: The STPGA administers over 500 junior golf events a year for ages 6-18. We also administer PGA of America programs including Drive, Chip & Putt and PGA Junior League, an introductory program run by PGA Professionals where juniors play on teams in a fun, enjoyable atmosphere. 

Scholarships: The Foundation awards over $100,000 annually in college scholarships to deserving young men and women to help them further their education. The program has awarded over $1.3M since it started. 

Military: PGA HOPE (Helping Our Patriots Everywhere) is the flagship military program of PGA REACH and is designed to introduce golf to veterans with disabilities to enhance their physical, mental, social and emotional well-being. 

Employment Opportunities: PGA WORKS is a workforce diversification strategic initiative designed to evolve the demographic composition of the golf industry workforce and develop a robust pool of talent from historically underrepresented backgrounds who are prepared to ascend to key employment positions in the business of golf.
PGA REACH Southern Texas is looking for an energetic, dynamic individual that is ready to learn, interact with a variety of people, and work within an industry that impacts so many lives in a positive manner. 
JOB DESCRIPTION
❑ Management of afterschool Little Linkster events in the Spring and Fall 
❑ Assist with scheduling of junior golf events 
❑ Management of Drive, Chip, and Putt events during the summer to include communication with golf course, volunteers, staff, and customers, registration support, equipment management, financial tracking, and gathering media content for live social media posts, photo galleries, and a program recap video 
❑ Help administer PGA HOPE programs to include promotion, on-site activation, section engagement, program management, media content procurement, and general tasks 
❑ Assist with the recruitment of PGA Members for and promotion of PGA Jr. League 
❑ Assist the Director of Junior Golf, Prestige Tour Coordinator, and Manager of Tournament Operations with tournament administrative duties such as tournament administration, course marking, painting, rules officiating, and pace management 
❑ Assist with the management of company equipment, to include inventory and maintenance ❑ Assist with the maintenance of BlueGolf Tournament Software, including building tournaments, assisting consumers, upkeep of points lists, and updating course information 
❑ Assist the Communications Department with the gathering of digital media at all Foundation activities, including, but not limited to PGA HOPE, Drive, Chip & Putt, Junior League Golf, and Foundation Pro-Ams. ❑ Assist the Director of Junior Golf with various administrative duties 
❑ Perform general office duties to include answering the telephone and assisting junior golf parents and PGA Members with various tasks 
❑ Assist the Southern Texas PGA and PGA WORKS in the awareness of the PGA WORKS Fellowship to help attract future candidates to the Southern Texas PGA Fellowship 
❑ Perform other duties as assigned by the Assistant Executive Director and Executive Director 
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES
❑ Strong moral character and unquestionable integrity 
❑ Excellent communication skills both written and verbal 
❑ Knowledge of the BlueGolf tournament software preferred 
❑ Detail oriented and the ability to work on multiple projects 
❑ Ability and willingness to travel frequently within the geographic boundaries of the Southern Texas PGA ❑ Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite of products 
❑ Experience in golf tournament administration and operations 
❑ College degree 
❑ Work schedule includes frequent weekends and some holidays 
❑ Ability to light 50 pounds and work outside in hot conditions

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
❑ Bachelor’s degree (BA) 
❑ Golf industry experience preferred but not required 
❑ Valid Driver’s License Required
COMPENSATION PACKAGE
Base Salary 
❑ $34,000 – $37,500 based off experience
