Construction Operations Intern - Summer 2023 - Bentonville, AR

Our Summer internship program is a full-time, 12-week summer position from May through August 2023. As an intern you’ll receive an exciting opportunity to acquire relevant work experience and work alongside our best and brightest. CONSTRUCTION OPERATIONS INTERN 
Construction has been the core of our business for over 125 years. We give nothing-but-the-best project coordination that delivers accelerated project schedules, cost management, value engineering, expert fabrication and installation and more.    

Principal Duties and Accountabilities: 
  • Participate in the creation and management of internal project controls including but not limited to: WBS (work breakdown structure), productivity tracking, internal and external project schedules, strategic material and equipment procurement, safety inspections, and quality control program management. 
  • Participate in document and information management processes including but not limited to contract documents, drawing and specification posting, RFI’s and submittal creation tracking and logging. 
  • Participate in design management activities including but not limited to value engineering analysis, design and budget reconciliation, constructability reviews, design schedules, and design progress management. 
  • Shadow project reporting processes including but not limited to financial forecasting, change management tracking, subcontractor and vendor agreement management, project procurement tracking. Additional shadowing opportunities include observing project management team through strategic decisions including client development and management, internal cultural management, safety program management, and participation in internal and external meetings. 

Education: 
  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Architecture Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Science, or Business with an interest in Mechanical Contracting.

Physical and/or Travel demands:  
  • This position will work in the Bentonville, Arkansas area. 
  • Frequent use of computer, including keyboard, viewing monitor for extended periods of time, physically moving throughout the office.   
  • Occasional day trips between construction job sites, offices, and manufacturing facilities. 

Benefits and Compensation: 
  • This is a temporary, full-time, non-benefits eligible position, and is classified as non-exempt. We pay our interns because we value your time and want to support your financial stability as you begin to explore your options in this industry. The hourly rate for this position has been established at $18-$22/hour and is U.S. Engineering's good faith and reasonable estimate at the time of the posting. The compensation offered to the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors. 

Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without requiring future sponsorship for employment visa status.
