JOB DESCRIPTION: Tompkins Cortland Community College seeks a dynamic and engaging full-time tenure track faculty member with a focus on student success and retention. Position includes teaching civil engineering and construction management courses in our Construction and Environmental Technology program and in the Civil Engineering Technology track of our Applied Science and Technology degree. Courses may include Materials Testing, Surveying I and II and Drafting. Teaching credits may involve teaching face-to-face, remote, day, evening, online, hybrid, and HyFlex courses. The successful candidate will collaborate with colleagues and local industry partners to maintain, develop, and update course curricula, and programs. Other activities will include student advising, serving on college committees, coordinating internship experiences, holding office hours, and outcomes assessment.
 
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (or closely related field) and substantial industry experience and certifications or Master's degree in Civil Engineering.
 
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Master's Degree in Civil Engineering (or closely related field), and 5 years or more professional experience in the research, teaching or professional workplace related to construction or civil engineering. Experience with research/teaching/work experience that involves preparing technicians for emerging jobs in the civil engineering, and construction fields is also desirable. College teaching experience is desirable, especially as it relates to working with a diverse student body.
 
EXPECTED HIRING SALARY RANGE: $51,233 - $64,043 - Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
