Water Engineering Internship

Garver’s Water Design Center, a concentrated group of experts in water treatment facility planning and design, is seeking a Water Engineering Intern to join our team in Harlingen, TX. This intern will gain real-world experience in design while working in a fast-paced, professional setting. Join our group of professionals who are working with communities throughout the region and are developing solutions for their water needs.
 
Internship description:

  • Day-to-day responsibilities include civil support as required for a variety of water and wastewater projects.
  • Assist in the development of detailed designs for a variety of projects including water and wastewater treatment facilities, pump stations, lift stations, tanks, vaults, and other ancillary structures associated with water and sewer infrastructure projects.
  • Prepare site plans, drainage calculations, yard piping designs.

Water Design Center (WDC)
Staffed with multi-disciplined engineers, scientists, designers, and technicians, the WDC provides high-performance teams for technical expertise in all project areas to successfully deliver sound solutions and customized quality designs. The WDC was created to bring together every unique discipline necessary to design custom solutions for water and wastewater treatment facilities and related infrastructure, including civil, environmental, process, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, controls, construction, applications, and operations. Having a focused team with in-person collaboration using the latest 3D and 4D BIM software leads to more efficient delivery, shorter design schedules, and lower change order percentages.
 
Requirements:

  • Must have completed sophomore year towards a civil engineering degree from an ABET accredited program by spring 2023.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Previous internship experience (preferred).
