Quality Engineer

As our Quality Engineer, you will be an integral player in collaborating with our internal team to improve and support our quality systems and processes. We need your innovative approach to aid our team and ensure that our products and workflow support the growth and improvement targets of our business. Your hands-on, get-stuff-done attitude will help solidify world-class customer solutions.

What are you Accountable for?
  • QMS/IQM & Supplier Quality Management, ISO9001, AS9100 & other various certifications
  • Long Term Organic Growth - support a strategy that impacts revenue by being focused on reduction/elimination of RMA’s & CAR’s, improved inspections, yield, & reduced inventory adjustments  
  • A Quality Culture - Champion the Winchester culture while helping to create a strong department 

How do you Collaborate?
Collaborate across Hermetics in a way that leads by example, holds people accountable and utilizes data to make informed decisions. Actively participate on behalf of the Quality team both internally and externally on NPI projects, Engineering requirements, contract review, RMA’s, CAR’s, production, and general customer service. Have a positive, engaged, and infectious attitude that's easy to work with and aligns with our culture. 

What are you Empowered to do?
  • Support a QMS strategy that aligns with Hermetics short & long term growth goals and compliments all departments
  • Establish KPI’s, report on them, and make them visible to the team and other departments
  • Strengthen/build your department resources with the short & long term growth strategy in mind & align personnel to achieve the best results (cross train individuals where needed)
  • Collaborate frequently with other departments to ensure accurate quotes, contract review completion, priorities for OTD is met, and customer communication is supported
  • Identify areas to invest in support of future growth
  • Establish incentives to reinforce the right behaviors
  • Continually seek ways to simplify your department and rationalize costs
  • Communicate with your team at a cadence that makes expectations and performance clear  

Criteria for Success:
  • BS degree required and 3-5 years of quality experience
  • Analytical thinker with demonstrated technical ability to perform root cause analysis, prepare and implement action plans, lead improvement initiatives, and interface with customer’s technical resources
  • Support Winchesters Long Term Organic Growth goals by establishing a robust Quality strategy that impacts Revenue & EBITDA, OTD, and Quality KPI’s
  • Ability to direct quality resources to develop and implement test and inspection programs to meet customer, industry, regulatory standards across the manufacturing site
  • Commitment to Winchester’s values of accountability, collaboration, and empowerment
  • Compiles and uses data, databases, ERP systems, spreadsheets, etc. to communicate and drive enterprise-wide initiatives
