Software Engineering Intern (Summer 2023)

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Terran Orbital is seeking a Software Engineering Intern to develop key elements of mission and communications subsystems for innovative, high-capability small satellites. Exciting product development activities will include phased array antennas, high data rate radios, encrypted communication devices, radar systems, and other satellite payloads.
  • This engineer will be responsible for supporting projects at any point during the full lifecycle of development from concept through design, manufacturing, and test.
  • Collaborate with systems, software, mechanical, and electrical engineering to develop optimal solutions to complex problems

Requirements

  • Enrolled in a bachelor’s or graduate degree program in an applicable engineering or science discipline
  • Ability to work full-time, on-site at our Melbourne, FL location for a minimum of 10 weeks during summer 2023
  • Meticulous attention to detail in design and documentation.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office productivity tools
  • Excellent collaboration and organizational skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
  • Ability to self-govern with minimal supervision, establish workload priorities, and to utilize efficient time management practices to achieve assigned tasks
  • Additional preferred experience:
  • Familiarity with engineering practices for space domain applications
  • Familiarity with phased array, radar, or communications systems
  • Previous applied engineering experience in internship, co-op, laboratory, or team projects.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
This is largely a sedentary role with heavy computer usage. Position may require incumbent to move files, walk around the office, and bend/stand as necessary.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets.
