Electrical Engineering Intern – Lighting - Summer 2023

My name is Keith M Kolmos (he / him) and I am the Director of Engineering for our Appleton Lighting brand. You’ll play a key role in supporting Appleton’s mission of providing best in class lighting products for industrial and hazardous locations. Come join us and help design the next generation!
 
AS AN INTERN, YOU WILL:

A DAY IN THE LIFE MAY CONSIST OF:
  • Developing and supporting automated test equipment for our new product reliability lab in our brand-new (April 2022) test facility in East Dundee, Illinois utilizing LabVIEW, Raspberry Pi, Arduino, or PLC platforms.
  • Develop tools to convert and automate data collection from our test equipment
  • Perform competitive analysis by creating bills of material, performing product teardowns, and testing product capabilities
  • Analyze Component failure of field returns
  • Assist Senior Design Engineers in the development of New Products.

YOU ARE:
  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science
  • Willing and able to work 40 hours a week, Monday through Friday, at our office in East Dundee, IL, during Summer 2023
  • Legally authorization to work in the United States.
 
IT’S A BONUS IF YOU:
  • Have experience working with and of the following: LabVIEW, Raspberry Pi, Python, C Programming, JavaScript, React, Angular, Node.js. Hands on experience with general lab equipment including oscilloscopes, function generators, soldering irons, and/or digital meters through course work or prior internships.
Know about software engineering, embedded systems, or product reliability testing.
