Embedded Software Engineering Intern

Software Engineering Intern, Embedded Software 
 Are you interested in device drivers, embedded software, and working at the hardware-software interface? If so, this Summer 2023 internship offers the opportunity to work in Juniper’s Platforms Engineering Team, which writes embedded software for the Junos Operating System. This OS runs essential infrastructure deployed globally for routing, switching, and security. You would participate as a member of the development team, gaining experience and depth of knowledge through your project. 

For this role, you should have: 

· Proficiency in C or C++ (mandatory): strong programming fundamentals, including algorithms and data structures. Knowledge in Python is a plus. 
· Understanding of operating systems internals (e.g., taken at least one course in operating systems) 
· Understanding of computer architecture 
· Familiarity with a Linux development environment 
· Knowledge of computer networking concepts is a plus, not required 

Candidates should be enrolled in a CS, CE, or EE program, preferably at the master's level, and graduating at the end of 2023 or mid-2024.

· Ability to work collaboratively and solve problems 
· Strong communication skills, especially written

Minimum Salary: $60,000.00
Maximum Salary:$92,000.00

The pay range for this position is expected to be between $60,000.00 and $92,000.00/year; however, the base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position also includes medical benefits, 401(k) eligibility, vacation, sick time, and parental leave. Additional details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.

If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

Juniper’s pay range data is provided in accordance with local state pay transparency regulations. Juniper may post different minimum wage ranges for permanent residency petitions pursuant to US Department of Labor requirements.
