How You Will Contribute:

As Telecommunications Quality Assurance Systems Engineer, you will help develop verification strategies in relation to customer and telecommunications/networking industry requirements insuring continued overall system quality delivered with every release.

  • You will learn about the product development lifecycle process and understand the benefits of which engineering methodology best represents the company needs.
  • You will build the essentials to develop effective test strategies and automation and build out system applications and solutions in a laboratory environment to establish a sound base upon which to grow evolving networking test strategies.
  • You will test new features introduced with every system release and report test results to databases.
  • You will perform regression system level tests to guarantee no degradation exists from release to release, including backwards compatibility test coverage.
  • You will report bugs into databases to identify issues found through effective testing and help drive closure towards attaining compliance with customer expectations.
  • You will maintain and help grow lab system environments to scale with the evolution of the product line.

The Must Haves:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Computer Science coupled with a demonstrated ability to work with Linux based OS and automate test cases using Object Oriented Language, preferably Python or interface with JSON files and Mongo databases.
  • Technical knowledge of PON systems.
  • Familiarity with test automation tools and environments
  • Experience working with various network interfaces to communicate with test equipment, such as, Serial, GPIB, USB and Ethernet.
  • Proven debugging skills.
  • Familiarity with test and network equipment command line languages such as vendor specific API & SCPI as well as with physical layer aspects of fiber optics.
  • An understanding of customer and industry requirements stemming from Telecom Carriers and Cable Providers, as well as, Standards from IEEE, ITU-T, DOCSIS and Telcordia.
