Your Responsibilities

 
As a Performance Verification & Validation Engineer for John Deere Ottumwa Works located in Ottumwa, Iowa, you will….
 
  • Create and conduct tests to verify new designs of mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems and sub-systems.
  • Perform bench tests, lab tests and on-machine component verification.
  • Support field testing including direct customer interaction and machine validation.
  • Facilitate resolution of technical problems by assisting project teams in the determination and validation of root causes and verification of solutions.

What Skills You Need

 
  • Basic understanding of electrical test tools and data acquisition systems
  • Experience with 3D CAD modeling, such as Creo
  • Demonstrated problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with technicians and engineer
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage time effectively
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 25%
 

What Makes You Stand Out

 
  • 1 or more years of engineering experience relating to mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic systems
  • Experience using measurement devices such as linear potentiometers, accelerometers, strain gauges, load cells, and transducers
  • Experience using signal processing tools such as nCode Glyphworks, Matlab, and LabVIEW
  • Knowledge and understanding of J1939 and ISOBUS architectures/machine software
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of the operation or function of hay and forage equipment
 

Education

 
Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:
 
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Agricultural Engineering
