About the Position
Spend your summer in the beautiful Berkshire Mountains! Sport Management Interns serve as athletic coaches and camp counselors. This is the perfect opportunity for students of any music major looking to develop their teaching skills. Music Counselors spend part of their day teaching campers in a specific instrument. Instruments include piano, keyboard, electric guitar, acoustic guitar, bass guitar and drums. As a teacher, you should be knowledgeable and experienced in your instrument and able to read music.
In addition to your teaching responsibilities, you will be a camp counselor taking part and guiding campers through daily camp activities, special events and serving as a role model.
Responsibilities:
- Play in camp cover band with music ranging with a wide range of music of the bands choosing.
- Band members practice together as one band and perform Friday nights as part of our call camp special event and tradition .
- Have the opportunity to play out at venues in town with the other band members throughout the summer.
- Part of the role also includes working with kids and teaching the basics of your instrument to kids.
- Accompany each age group as they perform and sing in our annual Songfest Night.
Staff live at camp and reside in a cabin alongside their group of campers. This is a seasonal, paid position from mid-June to mid-August. Food, housing, a travel stipend, comprehensive staff training, and days off are included as part of the compensation package.
