Budget and Management Program Manager

REQUIREMENTS AND PREFERENCES:
The Broward County Board of County Commissioners is seeking qualified candidates for the position of: Budget and Management Program Manager in the Office of Management and Budget.
General Description
Administrative and supervisory budgetary work assisting in managing the office operation.
Works under administrative supervision, developing and implementing programs within organizational policies and reports major activities to executive level administrators through conferences and reports.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
Requires a Master's degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in Public Administration, Business Administration, or closely related field. Master's degree in Public Administration is preferred.
Requires six (6) years of progressively responsible local or state government budget and management analysis work in a local or state government budget agency, including two (2) years lead work/supervisory/program management experience in a local or state government budget agency or closely related experience.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Budget and Management Program Manager will be responsible or performing all Office of Management and Budget functions relating to the operating, debt service and capital budgets for complex agencies as assigned and monitors and recommends amendments to the budget as needed.
The functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this class. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the job as necessary.
•Supervises, trains and advises management and budget analysts at various levels on the development and administration of their assigned budgets.
•Coordinates and summarizes expenditure forecast information for all agencies and follows-up on forecast anomalies.
•Develops data-based budget recommendations and reviews analyst recommendations relating to the County's $4 billion budget.
•Participates in recruitment process for new staff.
•Pursues professional growth and development opportunities to stay up-to-date on budget and management issues to mentor staff within the office.
•Performs related work as assigned.
