Product Engineering Intern - Exits & Accessories

With more than 25 brands sold in almost 130 countries across the globe, we specialize in security around the doorway and beyond: everything from residential and commercial locks, door closer and exit devices, steel doors and frames to access control and workforce productivity systems.
We're looking for performance-driven, innovative engineers who understand the importance of collaboration and customer focus. Our intern program offers candidates exposure to a variety real-world assignments. This role will focus on engineering support of a multi-site operation.
The core responsibility for the Product Engineering intern is to participate with the sustaining engineering team to perform tasks as assigned to meet project objectives and departmental goals.
Responsibilities:
- Active involvement in the engineering design process
- Participate in design reviews and peer reviews
- Provide content for assigned project report-outs
- Rely upon instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job
- Participate in the testing & validation process
- Work under immediate supervision of more experienced engineers
- Receive direct assistance on difficult tasks
- Cradle-to-grave project ownership
Qualifications:
- Pursuing a bachelor's degree in engineering
- Minimum 3.0 on 4.0 GPA scale.
- Demonstrated leadership ability and initiative (e.g. school club officer, sports team captain, resident advisor, etc. or exceptional leadership on school/work projects).
