Technical Documentation Engineer I

Gaumard Scientific Company, a world leader in health care simulation products, is looking for a Technical Documentation Engineer to join our team in Miami. Gaumard has manufactured and marketed simulators for health care education for more than 60 years.
The Technical Documentation Engineer will be responsible for documentation, Bill of Materials, schematics, manufacturing procedures, and production line support to advance technologies in health care education simulators. He/she will liaise between various departments to deliver designs fit for manufacturing, while being able to troubleshoot problems that production technicians encounter.
Users worldwide – the military, emergency medical services, major teaching hospitals and nursing schools – recognize Gaumard products for their innovation in simulation in the pre-hospital, obstetrics and gynecology, surgical and nursing care segments. In 2000, Gaumard launched the revolutionary family of NOELLE® maternal and neonatal care simulators that changed the way training is conducted. In 2004, Gaumard pioneered the use of fully tetherless technology with the introduction of the family of HAL® simulators. In 2014, the company introduced Victoria™, its most advanced, mobile maternal/fetal simulator as part of the NOELLE family.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Documenting, including generating Bill of Materials, schematics, exploded views, manufacturing procedures
  • Supporting production lines through product and component updates
  • Documenting and implementing parts and systems to improve realism, reliability and throughput
  • Developing a project specification with colleagues, often including those from other engineering disciplines
  • Documenting, testing and evaluating theoretical designs;
  • Discussing and solving complex problems with manufacturing departments, sub-contractors, suppliers and customers
  • Ensuring product reliability and manufacturability so that product will perform consistently in specified operating environments
  • Managing projects using engineering principles and techniques
  • Planning and documenting new production processes
  • Producing details of specifications and outline designs
  • Recommending modifications following prototype test results
  • Using research, analytical, conceptual and planning skills, particularly CAD
  • Considering the implications of issues such as cost, safety and time constraints
  • Working with other professionals, within and outside engineering;
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Must have a Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline. 
  • Experience in a production environment
  • Good organizational skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy, ability to multi-task and team oriented
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Fluency in both English and Spanish (speaking and written) preferred
  • Experience working with engineering design programs; Solidworks and AutoCAD preferred
