Sourcing Intern

Responsibilities: This internship is a valuable opportunity to grow as a leader and gain Procurement experience. In this position, interns will work within one of 5 areas of the Newell Brands Global Procurement function; Direct Sourcing, Indirect Sourcing, Sourced Finished Goods, Logistics or the Procurement Center of Excellence. As part of the Global Sourcing function, interns will gain experience in a broad range of environments and activities including:

·        Prepare, submit and assist with the Request for Quotes and Request for Proposal processes for a variety of products and services.
·        Help identify and analyze new and existing suppliers / categories / markets
·        Develop analytical reviews, cost models and perform cost analyses of products and categories in an effort to identify savings opportunities.
·        Identify and execute supply chain improvement activities with domestic and overseas suppliers.
·        Support Value Analysis / Value Engineering initiatives, driving the execution and delivery of assigned projects

Qualifications:
 
·        Completed junior year with a major in Business, Supply Chain or Engineering
·        GPA of 3.0 or higher
·        Internship or work experience preferred
·        Has a proven record of demonstrating the following skills:
o  Problem-solving and decision making
o  Collaboration and teamwork
o  Leadership, significant position preferred
o  Achieving results
o  Excel Usage / Data Analysis
·        Demonstrated project management skills and ability to balance multiple assignments at once
·        Desire to make a strong contribution in a continuous learning environment, while enhancing their readiness for a career in Supply Chain
