Supplier Quality Surveillance Representative

Productive Resources (www.prhires.com) is seeking a candidate to be part of our engineering team at our customer's facility in Newport News, VA. As a member of our team, the selected candidate will be supporting the Supplier Quality Division, functioning as the client representative at the supplier’s facility.
This is a contract position that is indefinite in duration with the opportunity of professional growth, and additional opportunities within our organization.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Responsibility for observing all work performed by the supplier(s), as authorized by the client.
  • Coordinating resolution of all quality issues, including assurance of supplier adherence to requirements from military specifications and vendor drawings.
  • Provide work release authorization (WRA) for timely delivery of all critical components identified by the client.
  • Provide reports to client designated points of contact to discuss requirements, resolve problems and keep informed of changes to existing requirements and/or schedules.

Basic Requirements:
  • US Citizen and DOD Confidential Clearance desired, or at least US Citizen and able to be processed to obtain clearance.
  • Associates Degree in a technical field with 10+ years of experience in manufacturing systems.
  • Ability to read and understand manufacturing drawings, production documents and specifications.
  • Understanding of material specifications, manufacturing techniques, and inspections techniques, used for common manufacturing materials and components.
  • Ability to perform quality surveillance activities within a typical manufacturing facility and at multiple manufacturing sites.
  • Work will be performed under general supervision while exercising considerable latitude for independent actions within the client policies, practices, and procedures.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to travel to multiple client suppliers.
 
Preferred skills:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering or closely related.
  • A working knowledge of military specifications.
  • Understanding of welding and non-destructive testing (NDT).
  • Knowledge of Navy ship construction methods, manufacturing, fabrication operations and quality assurance requirements.
  • Understanding of Level I material traceability requirements as it applies to material identification and control.
