Electrical Engineer (Wake Forest)

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Develop electrical and electronic designs for next generation Radar and Sonar systems
  • Work closely with a team to ensure compatibility of system components
  • Perform electrical trade-offs for system design
  • Perform electrical stress analysis to ensure environmental requirements are met
  • Develop drawing package to MIL-STD-31000 requirements for reproduction of the system
  • Develop electrical systems and electronic products by analyzing customer requirements; researching test requirements, manufacturing, assembly methods, and materials; soliciting review/observations from appropriate people
  • Work closely with project, mechanical, systems, quality assurance, industrial, and other electrical engineers as well as manufacturing personnel and suppliers
  • Some travel may be required


Required Skills:
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • 1+ year of related work experience or internships
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance. Security clearances may only be granted to U.S. citizens.

Desired Skills:
  • Master of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Experience designing to meet required specifications
  • Experience designing, simulating, testing, and debugging analog and digital circuitry
  • Experience designing, reviewing, or working with Printed Circuit Board (PCB) or Printed Circuit Board Assembly (PCBA) designs
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Experience working with teams during multiple phases of development
  • Experience presenting designs or projects with critical reviews by team members
  • Experience with Radar and/or Sonar systems, signal processing, or communication theory
  • Experience with Radio Frequency (RF) components or RF design
  • Experience with SPICE, Harmonic Balance, or other circuit simulation software
  • Experience with harness, cable, and connector specification and documentation
  • Knowledge of Agile PLM or other Configuration Management (CM) systems
  • Understanding of fundamentals of design for electromagnetic compliance or meeting a specific standard (i.e. FCC, UL, CE, MIL-STD-461)
  • Some travel may be required (10%)
