Internship - Systems Engineer

DEKA offers Internships for full time students* (must be at least 18 years of age). Internships last a minimum of 10 weeks, 12 preferred, and summer internships are to begin no later than June 17, 2019.
This Systems Engineering Intern at DEKA Research & Development, located in Manchester, NH will participate in an in-depth analysis of a fluid delivery system and have the opportunity to learn about the various techniques used to understand and characterize such a system. The selected candidate will also participate in reviewing/contributing to FEA models of the system, physical testing of the system and reviews of the basic physics driving the system. 
Responsibilities:
  • Aid in analysis of a fluid delivery system
  • Perform testing to characterize system
  • Produce report summarizing testing and results
  • Complete additional testing and analysis as needed
  • Make recommendations to the Responsible Engineer(s) about process improvements based on test data
  • Complete assigned tasks and daily activities in the department.
  • Know and follow all policies that apply to one's job, and maintain the highest levels of professionalism, ethics and compliance at all times.
  • Assume responsibility for successful completion of assigned projects and tasks.
  • Work proactively, demonstrating a high level of initiative.
Requirements:
  • Must be currently enrolled in an accredited college/institution pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Biomedical, Mechanical or a related engineering field
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, etc.)
  • Familiarity with Python or other software languages
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Good interpersonal skills

*A full time student is defined as being enrolled in a minimum of 12 credits per semester at an undergraduate program, or a minimum of 9 credits per semester for a graduate program.
