MDOT Transportation Planning Specialist 14 - Federal Revenue

This specialist position serves as the department wide expert for allocating Michigan's federal aid highway funds to state and local programs, and for developing federal revenue projections for the metropolitan Long-Range Transportation Plans (LRTPs) and the Statewide Transportation Improvement Program (STIP) required under the Federal Law. In addition, the position must have specialized knowledge of federal transportation and be able to advise bureau management with respect to federal issues. The position also assists in the development of the Highway Capital Investment Strategy and long-term Michigan Transportation Fund (MTF) revenue forecasting.

Required Education and Experience
Education
Possession of a bachelor's degree in urban or regional planning, resources development, engineering, statistics, mathematics, geography, economics, or a related field.
 
Experience
Five years of professional experience equivalent to a Transportation Planner, including three years equivalent to a Transportation Planner P11, two years equivalent to a Transportation Planner 12, or one year equivalent to a Transportation Planning Specialist 13.
