Ports Project Engineer/Assistant Project Manager (Req. ID#152298)

HDR is looking for a Project Engineer/Assistant Project Manager to join our Ports and Maritime practice group in South Florida. This position may be based in our Miami Lakes, Miami, Fort Lauderdale, or West Palm Beach locations. This individual will be expected to perform individually and in a team environment designing and co-managing small to medium-sized projects (construction values typically from $100K to $25M) with a primary focus on structural, geotechnical, and general civil design elements.  Their primary responsibility will involve various tasks on projects ranging in scope from limited complexity to those involving multifaceted features and disciplines. They will need to be autonomous and capable of self-performing required assignments, with efforts guided by senior level engineers/managers, and facilitated by other group members, as appropriate (e.g. junior engineers, CADD technicians, estimators, etc.).

General duties will include:

• Performance of engineering studies/reports, analyses, calculations, design

  details/sketches, opinions of cost, QA/QC, and other related tasks needed to

  produce constructible/practical plans

• Assistance with management of new and existing projects, with tasks including

  (but not limited to) project setup, contract management, staff/resource

  scheduling and allocation, budget management, deliverable preparation and

  submittal, etc.

• Oversight of analyses, calculations, and tasks completed by others, to ensure

  milestones are achieved, deliverables meet scopes of service (and company

  quality standards), and budgets are maintained according to negotiated

  contract terms and agreements

• Local travel to fulfill project requirements (e.g. site visits, client meetings, etc.)

  and to market local industry or new/existing clients for the pursuit of project

  opportunities
